"Australian Government Supports Local Tourism Development in Malaita with Grant for Eco-Lodge Expansion"
Haodaikirio new bungalow support by Australian Strongim Business.

Steven Misiosi owner of the Haodaikirio Home Stay in Central Kwara’ae Malaita Province is grateful for the support rendered to him from the Australian Government through Australian Strongim Business.

He said work on the new bungalow had been started back last year 2024 but slowly progressing due to financial constraints which he encountered as someone who has little capital to invest in his vision to support tourism development in Malaita and lives in a remote and rural village.

He said strongim Business recognition of his effort started when Australia High Commissioner in Honiara visited his home stay and later provided the much needed assistance that boosted the construction work of his new bungalow.

I am so grateful for Australian High Commissioner’s leadership. In most cases in the country’ government’ development partners and stakeholders rarely recognised operators effort in supporting people who struggle to ensure we progress. To make it even worst is if you are a rural operator. But the Australian high commissioner through Strongim business is different, his excellency just saw what I did and then recommended and endorsed support for my project.

Owner of the eco-lodge Steve Misiosi call upon young Malaitans to continue to work hard to ensure they progress. Steve also call upon stakeholders develop infrastructure and support operators in the rural area to balance development in the country.
