Bethalyn Kelly is awarded as the Pacific Regional Winner for the Commonwealth Youth Award 2025.

Miss Kelly has been recognized for her exceptional community work through Resilience Innovation and Social Change Girls Club (RISC-GC), where she leads efforts to transform plastic waste into strong, durable pavement bricks. This groundbreaking initiative not only addresses environmental challenges but also contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

Once again, the youths of the Solomon Islands and the Pacific Region have demonstrated their immense talent, creativity, and innovation on the global stage. This marks a historic achievement as Solomon Islands has, for the second time, reached the level of Regional Winner at the prestigious Commonwealth Youth Awards.

Bobby Siarani the older brother of Bethalyn Kelly who is also Regional Winner at the prestigious Commonwealth Youth Awards back in 2019 is grateful to see his younger sister win the award.

Your dedication to community development is inspiring, and I urge you to continue creating positive change while motivating other young people in the Solomon Islands”.

In statement Mr Siarani “I would like to extend my heartfelt shout-out to the British High Commissioner to the Solomon Islands and the UK in Solomon Islands, as well as the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children, and Family Affairs, for their invaluable support in making this journey to London, UK, possible”
