Canada Fund for Local Initiatives Introduced in Auki

Canada's grant facility known as the Canada Fund for local initiatives was introduced in Auki, Malaita. Malaita Youth Hub and Malaita Provincial Youth Desk cohost the program.
The Canada Australia based representatives ๐๐ฌ. ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ข introduced the grant facility to communicate based organizations (CBOs) in Malaita.
CBOs attending the funding information session come from almost all region in across Malaita. Community Base Organisation who attend the session come as far as East Kwaio, North Malaita, West Kwaio. Central Malaita, Auki Langa Langa and East Kwaraae. Honorable Members of Provincial Assembly and Government officers of Malaita Provincial Government also attend the information session.

During the information session, the representative of the Canada Fund present information on grants the CANDA FUND FOR LOCAL INITIATIVES funded across the Pacific including grants offered in the Solomon Islands since 2017. Other informations shared during the the session include; the funding delivery approaches, funding eligible criteria, and the timeline guiding the funding.
During the question session, the CBO representative asked number of questions regarding the funding, which was answered very clearly. One of the representatives asked what is Canada's big plan in the light of the current geo-politics in the region, in response, the representative said that as 2017, Canada had initiated the Canada Indo-Pacific Strategy, and the CFLI is the component of the Strategy.

Provincial Youth Coordinator, Frank Samo acknowledged the Canada Fund team for visiting Auki to share grant information. These information id crucial as CBOs need financial resources and capacity to implement their CBO activities.
