Korean Couple Explores Pineapple Export Opportunities with Bina Farmers.

Hynm Lee and his wife from Korea visited Bina today to meet local pineapple farmers and explore the possibility of exporting pineapple fruits. This was their first visit to the area, and they were accompanied by agriculture officers from Auki.

The purpose of the visit was to understand the challenges faced by pineapple farmers in Bina. "This visit is just for a scoping study to learn about the challenges faced by farmers and to see the pineapple farms for ourselves," Hynm Lee said.

During their visit, Lee shared his plans to gather information from the farmers. He intends to send 30 kilograms of pineapple fruits back to Korea for sample testing before considering larger exports. "If the samples are viable, I will come back and update you," he added. He expects to receive the results in about two months and hopes to export one container of pineapples by the end of the year.

The local farmers expressed their happiness about the potential opportunity. Artnasio Ata, speaking on behalf of the farmers, thanked the couple for their interest.

"We are very happy for the opportunity that the couple is bringing to our doorstep. We look forward to this great opportunity because it will help us maintain our existing farms and develop new ones."
