Malaita Provincial Government Initiates Road Maintenance to Support Kitano Workers and Local Residents.
With the initiative of improving local infrastructure and supporting international partnerships, the Malaita Provincial Government took the road maintenance work on a fader road that connects the MPG headquarter areas to residential areas at hilltop. This initiative comes in response to the needs of Kitano Company workers, who are currently engaged in the upgrade of Kiluufi Hospital and have been renting accommodation in a private house located uphill along the fader road.
In a statement released by the Provincial Government, officials highlighted the importance of this road maintenance project as a gesture of appreciation for Japan and the Kitano workers. "We recognize the hard work and dedication of the Kitano team, and it is our duty to ensure that they have easy access from their camp to the project site," the statement read. "By improving this road, we are not only facilitating their efforts but also enhancing the quality of life for our residents who have long struggled with poor road condition for years now."
The Malaita Provincial Government is optimistic that this project will also strengthen ties with the Japanese government and the Kitano Company, paving the way for future collaboration in various development initiatives.
With the road maintenance initiative, the Malaita Provincial Government reaffirms its commitment to improving public infrastructure and supporting the needs of both local communities and international partners engaged in development projects in Malaita Province.
