Speaking during the handing over ceremony of one of the key projects in late 2024, the chairman of the handwork rural community Mr. Rex Raomae acknowledges the member of the community for commitment and leadership shown over the past two years that result in the two community projects achieved. As a community achieving these two projectswithin a span of one year is a big achievement, and we must congratulate ourselves and thank our stakeholders for supporting and partnering with us. Mr Raomae called on the community members to continue to work hard in 2025.

In partnership with countryβs state own enterprise (SOE), Solomon Power, the rural community of Namobaula are achieved rural electronification project that resulted in reliable electricity now connected to the Namobula community for the first time, enabling households, school children. small business activities and church. The electrification project is expected to improve living standards by providing lighting, supporting small-scale income generating activities, and powering planned services like healthcare facilities.

A student who speaks to Malaita Issue during visit to the village shared his experience as the community achieved electricity in partnership with Solomon Power. Access to electricity now is a life changing experience, before we used to have solar lights, and torches for lighting. Now we had access to electricity which is very reliable-it helps a lot for us students during night study, so I think, access to electricity will positively impact our students. I had also witness some of our parents who are carpenters can now use their carpentry tools using Solomon power electricity, unlike before they only used generators.
Another project wihich is achieved by the community is thedigital village hub has introduced modern communication and digital tools to Namobula. The Food Agriculture Organisation(FAO) funded project offers internet access, training facilities, and resources for education, entrepreneurship, and community development. This project aims to bridge the digital divide, enabling residents to access online opportunities, connect with the broader world, and foster economic growth.

Speaking during the handover of the digital village hub project, the Director of Extension division within Ministry of Agriculture (MAL), encourage the community to utilize the project to ensure it benefited and sustain the community. The director called on Namobaula community especially the leaders to develop a community Namobaula community development plan so that it guide the community on how to utilize the community project.
Namobaula community achievement is a classic example on how communities should pursue community development so that our lives can be transform in our rural communities.
