Malaita Youth Leaders Advocacy and Civic Education Training Begins in Auki.

Today, the Malaita Youth Leaders Advocacy and Civic Education Training officially kicked off in Auki, Malaita.
The event was launched by the Minister for Youth, Women, and Sport, Hon. John Sugono. In his speech, he encouraged the participating youth leaders to make the most of the week-long training.

Hon. Sugono also expressed gratitude to the Malaita Youth Council for taking the initiative to organize this important training for young leaders throughout Malaita Province.
Malaita Provincial Secretary, PS George Erick, who attended the opening ceremony at the Malaita Youth Hub, thanked the Australian Government, through DFAT, for supporting the Malaita Provincial Youth Council with this training. He emphasized the current government's commitment to working with youth to promote economic growth that includes everyone. He noted that young people play an important role in the development of the economy.

Philip Subu, President of the Malaita Provincial Youth Council, stated that this training is a milestone towards actively involving young people. He hopes that after the training, participants will become problem solvers, entrepreneurs, and leaders who can tackle issues like climate change and unemployment.
The training started today and will run until Friday. On the final day, these youth groups will receive grant support to aid their activities.
The support from DFAT is greatly appreciated, and it is hoped that this assistance will continue to boost this youth groups to continue with their income generating activities for this year.
