Maoama Tribal Centre Association Celebrates 9 Years of Cultural Heritage

West Kwaio, Malaita Province – The Maoama Tribal Centre Association proudly celebrated its 9th anniversary on February 7th, marking nearly a decade since its launch in 2017. The celebration took place at Anoana in West Kwaio, the site where the centre was built.

During the event, various cultural groups from the Maoama Tribal Centre showcased their vibrant cultural heritage through traditional performances, which were the highlight of the day. Nine tribes, all sub-tribes of the Foubaba tribe, participated in the festivities, demonstrating the rich traditions and customs of the Kwaio people.

The Maoama Tribal Centre is now open to visitors and tourists who are interested in exploring and learning more about the rich cultural heritage of Kwaio. The association invites everyone to come and experience the unique traditions that make this region special.
