MP For CKC Hon Ricky Fuo’o Funds Urgent Repairs for Busurata Road.

Honorable Ricky Fuo’o, the Member of Parliament for Central Kwara’ae Constituency, has taken significant action to improve local infrastructure by funding urgent repairs for the 14 km Busurata road, which began on December 20, 2024. The road, which has been largely inaccessible for several years, plays a crucial role in transporting local produce and root crops to Auki market.

The Busurata Emergency Maintenance Project is being carried out by Exodus Trade Development Limited, a local construction company based in Auki. The much-needed repairs come after years of neglect that rendered the road impassable, severely impacting the daily lives of residents and the movement of goods and services. For many community members, particularly the most vulnerable, this road serves as a vital lifeline, enabling farmers, traders, and families to access markets and sustain their livelihoods.

Local truck owner Francis Lulu expressed his appreciation for Hon. Fuo’o’s commitment to improving infrastructure in the area. “I am thrilled to see Hon. Fuo’o fulfilling his campaign promises by addressing this critical need for our community. His dedication proves that he is the right leader for Central Kwara’ae Constituency,” Lulu stated in an interview with Malaita Issues.

In a recent statement, Hon. Fuo’o emphasized the importance of infrastructure for community development. “Infrastructure is the backbone of any community. By fixing this road, we are not just providing transportation; we are creating opportunities for our people to thrive. This is just the beginning, and we have many more projects planned,” he said

Hon. Fuo’o also called on landowners along the Busurata Road to support the project by granting access to gravel necessary for the maintenance work. “Your cooperation is essential for the smooth execution of this project and its successful completion,” he urged

The funding for these emergency repairs has been made possible through the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), which allocated resources from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Hon. Fuo’o expressed gratitude to the MRD for their support, stating, “I appreciate their assistance, which has enabled my office to address this critical infrastructure.
