The descendants of the OFI tribes will gather for a spiritual reconciliation from Thursday, April 3rd to Saturday, April 5th at the Buma Catholic Station, West Kwaio. This significant event aims to heal the historical wounds caused by differences, killings, and thefts between the tribes of the 11 sons and 3 daughters of the first person who settled at OFI.

Tribes and clans are expected to arrive on Thursday morning, with the program set to officially begin at 2pm.

Fred Sisifiu, the program coordinator, emphasized that the event is open to all, regardless of which tribe or clan they belong to. "Anyone can attend this reconciliation program. It is for everyone who comes under these sons and daughters," Sisifiu said. He also encouraged people from East Kwaio, North or Kwara'ae, and beyond to participate if they are connected to the tribes.

Sisifiu further stressed that unity among the tribes is crucial for the region’s development. "For any development to take place, there must be togetherness among the tribes that own the land before the land is available for development without any hindrance," he added.

Representatives from the Ministry of Peace, the Premier of Malaita Province, the Member of Parliament for West Kwaio Constituency, and other provincial leaders will also be present at the event.
