The China Civil Engineering Construction Cooperation (CCECC) is proud to announce its commitment to fostering local employment opportunities during the much-anticipated Auki Road Rehabilitation Project.

CCECCโ€™S South Pacific General Manager Mr. Liang Qing, in his remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony in Auki this week, emphasized their companyโ€™s dedication to engaging with local communities and transferring valuable skills to residents along the project route.

"We will ensure that as much local employment is created as possible, allowing for skill transfers that will benefit the workforce in the long term."

Qiang further appealed to the Solomon Islands government and Auki residents for their continued support during the execution of the project, expressing confidence that with collaborative efforts, the project will be completed on time and contribute significantly to the development of Malaita and the national economy.

CCECC has already set up their camp at Aligegeo School and recruited more than 50 locals for the initial stages of this project.

This China-aid road upgrade from Kwaibala to Kiluโ€™ufi Hospital (9 km plus) once completed will provide Malaitans a smooth and enjoyable driving experience within Auki Town.

As anticipated, with proper maintenance, these roads will serve our community effectively for 10 to 20 years.

CCECC rep Mr. Qing ensure highlighted that their company will ensure much local employment is created to benefit the workforce in the long term.

CCECC has played a key role in several prominent projects, including the National Stadium, the SINU-Panatina Campus, the Munda Airport Terminal, and the World Bank-funded Land and Maritime Connectivity Project (LMCP). Since its establishment in 1979, CCECC has been actively involved in infrastructure construction across more than 130 countries worldwide.

In the Pacific region, CCECC has delivered notable projects in countries such as Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, Timor-Leste, Tuvalu, and Tonga.

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development Transport Infrastructure Management Services Department will work closely with CCECC overseeing the project phase and deliverables.
