Ward One Development Committee Holds Planning Meeting at Malaita Green House
The Ward One Development Committee (WDC) convened yesterday for an important planning meeting at the Malaita Green House. The meeting brought together community representatives who are part of the WDC, with the aim of providing training on participatory planning processes.
The training session focused on equipping WDC members with the necessary skills to engage their communities effectively before submitting work plans to the provincial planning team. These plans will later be presented to the Provincial Assembly for approval.
Mr. Nelson Kay, the Ward Support Officer for Ward 1, highlighted the significance of the training, emphasizing the importance of aligning the community’s work plan with the provincial blueprint policy and adhering to required timelines. "This training is crucial to ensure that our work plans are submitted in line with the provincial planning guidelines and within the stipulated deadlines," Mr. Kay said.
He also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Ward 1 Hon. Timeus Waladal for his continuous support, acknowledging the time and resources the MPA has dedicated to making the training a success.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community involvement in the development planning process and ensure that local needs are accurately represented at the provincial level.
